Details

Day 1: (March 22) Arrival. 

A Woman's Journey will meet you at the Malaga Airport and travel back to the beautiful village of Mijas. This first evening we will gather for a meal and spend time visiting and getting acquainted.  

Day 2: (March 23) After Breakfast, we will  gather for a time of worship.  

The day will be spent wandering the cobblestone streets of Mijas, after lunch, we will split up into teams and have a scavenger hunt.   In the afternoon we will meet  back at our hotel for a  debrief and rest before dinner.

Day 3: (March 24)  Breakfast,  Morning worship time. 

Today we'll travel to the Seaside town of Fuengirola. We may do some shopping or spend some time sitting on the beach. If we are lucky, we may see the rock of Gibraltar across the sea. We will have lunch on the beach, walk to the Sohail Castle, and explore this beautiful historic fortress. The castle sits atop a hill overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, which once provided a strategic vantage point for controlling the surrounding area. Throughout its history, the castle has played a significant role in various historical events, and today it is a popular tourist attraction and cultural venue in the region. 

Day 4: (March 25)  Breakfast,  Morning worship time. 

Today will be a walking day. Our group will trek the path around the village of Mijas, stopping to visit the iconic bullring.  

*This is considered an easy walk, but remember that Mijas is on a mountain, so there may be ups and downs. 

Day 5: (March 26) Breakfast, Morning worship time.

Today will be a day to challenge yourself. After a short drive to the trail, we will hike up to the Spanish church Ermita del Calvario, we will take in the splendid sights of Mijas all the way down to the Mediterranean Sea. We will walk back down to our hotel. 

*If you prefer not to make this hike we will have another option for you to choose from.

Day 6: (March 27)  Breakfast, Morning worship time.

Get ready to relax and enjoy being pampered. We will spend the day at the spa and/or around the pool. You can choose between a 1-hour full body massage or a 1-hour facial. These are always beautiful times to connect with our Creator and relax from all the tension you have been carrying. **Note: Massage or Facial is included in the price of this trip. Any other pampering will be at your own expense.

Day 7: (March 28) Breakfast, Morning worship time. 

Today YOU  choose your own itinerary. Some may want to stroll through Mijas and have a leisurely lunch, some may decide to hop on the bus to Fuengirola and explore some of the sights we may have missed, and some may just want to hang out by the pool and relax. Remember, this trip is about slowing down and embracing everything our Creator has for us. 

We will meet up for a final celebratory dinner.  

Day 8 (March 29) Breakfast, we will take a shuttle back to the airport. Adios, my dear sisters!

The trip is open to 7 women.

AWJ Covid-19 Restrictions

While participating in events held or sponsored by A Woman's Journey, consistent with CDC and international travel guidelines, participants are encouraged to practice hand hygiene, “social distancing” and wear face coverings indoors to reduce the risks of exposure to COVID-19. Because COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is spread mainly from person-to-person contact, A Woman's Journey will fill the preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 laid out in the country of our trip's destination and in the United States. However, A Woman's Journey cannot guarantee that its participants,  partners, or others in attendance will not become infected with COVID-19.

In light of the ongoing spread of COVID-19, individuals who fall within any of the categories below should not engage in A Woman's Journey events and/or other face-to-face fundraising activities. By joining us on a A Woman's Journey event, you certify that you do not fall into any of the following categories:

1. Individuals who currently or within the past fourteen (14) days have experienced any symptoms associated with COVID-19, which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath among others;

2. Individuals who have traveled at any point in the past fourteen (14) days either internationally or to a community in the U.S. that has experienced or is experiencing sustained community spread of COVID-19; or

3. Individuals who believe that they may have been exposed to a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 or have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and are not yet cleared as non-contagious by state or local public health authorities or the health care team responsible for their treatment.
